I’m a self-taught animator, writer, and voice actor with a pretty simple mission: make people curious enough to open a Bible.

It started with an iPad, a kitchen table, and one goal: get one teenager to read Scripture. Animation wasn’t exactly the plan.

I studied kinesiology in college and spent several years as a personal trainer. Then an unexpected encounter with an animator brought back something I had loved since childhood: cartoons.

As I watched anime build massive communities around invented characters and imaginary worlds, a thought hit me:

So I started teaching myself to animate.

No animation school. No studio. Just an iPad, a lot of trial and error, and my young daughters, Charli and Evie, playing and laughing nearby while I figured out how to draw warriors, kings, prophets, battles, betrayals, and some of the Bible’s most unruly characters.

Over the next four years, I learned the process one piece at a time. Today I write the scripts, act out the movements and expressions, animate the scenes, and voice the characters myself.

Somewhere along the way, it became a style of its own: fast, funny, sometimes feisty, and a little unexpected.

I don’t want to sanitize Scripture or make ancient stories behave. I want to lean into the courage and the cowardice, the absurdity and the brutality, the victories and the spectacular failures, while treating the biblical text with reverence.

Underneath the humor is something I take very seriously.

What started at my kitchen table has reached more people than I ever expected. Every month these animations are watched by millions of people across social media, and I hear from people around the world, sometimes in languages I don’t even speak, who say the videos made them want to understand the Bible for themselves.

Those are the messages I remember. Views, algorithms, and follower counts matter less than that. That was the point from the beginning.

Today I’m taking on one of Scripture’s wildest books: Judges. Unlikely heroes, deeply flawed leaders, impossible battles, shocking choices, and a God who keeps working through extraordinarily imperfect people.

It’s exactly the kind of story I love to draw.
